Moment Energy
There are three pillars of the business model of Moment Energy. One, is obtaining the used batteries directly from the OEM suppliers of EV companies—possibly at a discount or even charging them to ‘dispose’ of these used batteries (depending on how regulation in different countries is written and implemented) which could also become a moat. Second, is to use target customers in which their solutions solve specific high-priority problems of, initially, smaller clients in underserved sectors. The third and, possibly the most critical component of the business model—and a potential strong moat, is their Battery Management Software (BMS) system.
OEMs provide a circular economy for their batteries. ME (Moment Energy) is partnering with cities and OEMs to provide circular economy for their EV car’s used batteries—once these batteries reach 80% of life. Some potential applications for these used batteries include:
- Grid scale energy storage
- Residential storage
- Supplemental power for EV chargers
- Other possible applications—new markets are likely to develop for these used batteries
